Grilled Lobster Tails

Grilled Lobster Tails

Have you ever wanted to grill Lobster Tails but you were afraid that you would mess it up? When I first grilled Lobster I had many doubts. I am going to show you my sure fire method. Its so easy and it works so well.

Butterflied Lobster Tail

These Lobster Anywhere BBQ Lobster tails are absolutely perfect for the grill. There are a few reasons why I like these so much.

Preparation : There is no prep work involved. These already come butterflied for you.

Butterflied : When a lobster tail is butterflied it gives you the best of both worlds. It keeps the shape throughout the cook. This gives you a great presentation. It also allows you get to the lobster meat in contact with the grill grates. This is important because that char gives you some amazing flavor.

Seasoning : With the exposed lobster meat this is the best way to infuse flavor in the meat.

Fire up your favorite grill. Our target grill temperature should be around 350 degrees.

Lets prepare a butter mixture to baste these lobster tails. You can be as creative as you want with this. Here is my basic butter mixture :

Butter - Use a high quality butter. Dont skimp out on this one.

Garlic - Chopped garlic adds such flavor. I use a prepared minced garlic to make things easier.

Herbs - Parsley adds some great color and flavor.

Coat the lobster tail with the butter mixture and place the meat side down on the hot grill grates.

The key here is to get some nice grill marks/char on the lobster meat.

Then flip the lobster tail over, so the shell side is down. The shell will protect the lobster meat from burning.

Now that the Lobster meat is facing up, you can baste with the butter mixture. This will infuse some amazing flavors into the lobster meat.

The most important thing is not to overcook the lobster. I use a Thermoworks Thermapen to check the internal temperature of the lobster meat. You want to make sure the lobster meat doesn’t go over 140 degrees F. The lobster meat should look opaque. If you overcook the lobster meat it will have a chewy texture.

The best thing about this cook is that it will only take about 6-8 minutes to grill these. This is such an easy cook and it will definitely impress your friends and family.
